See the link below for a short BBC video of the oil rig pictured above collapsing as explosive charges are detonated. The semi-submersible drilling rig's legs then fold over and and the main deck falls on to the pontoons. Finally the derrick falls over like a tree.
Built in 1976 by Trosvisc Framnaes, Norway, it had 3 previous names in it's lifetime the Nortroll, Ali Baba and Emerald Producer.
Originally a drilling rig, it was converted to a floating production facility in 1991. Latterly it was in the West Don oil field (North Sea, Scotland, UK) as a Floating Production Facility 150km (93 miles) North West of Shetland where it was tied in to the Thistle platform and Brent oil export infrastructure through pipelines.
The rig is being dismantled by Kishorn Port Ltd at their dry dock facility in the remote north west of Highland Region, Scotland, UK.

Kishorn dock in the north west of the Scottish Highlands is a beautiful, remote, windswept and rugged area.
Close to the Isle of Skye the port is situated on Loch Carron.
