This has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard!

To save the environment, they are going to stop any new oil exploration in UK owned land and sea.

This will be bad for the environment!

The UK already imports a large amount of it's oil. If they ban exploration, UK production from existing wells will naturally fall and result in increased imports! Imports that will need to be transported to the UK from other countries, at a financial and environmental cost!

A cost that will be transferred on to consumers. The likes of Sir Keir Starmer and many of the privileged environmental activists can afford a brand new Tesla. What about the single parent family with a ten year old diesel Ford Focus they can just about afford to run the kids to school in?

People will loose good jobs and the UK Government will gather less tax from oil producers and all the many other companies involved.

This is a desperate attempt to boost their typically poor performance in polls.

I could see the point if the UK was a net oil exporter. However, to not extract the oil that your country requires, from your own sources and instead pay other countries for their oil is madness!

  The only way that oil companies are going to stop producing oil is if governments ban them or the oil price goes down so low it is no longer economically viable.
