2023 and the oil industry is still growing healthily.

In some countries, the oil industry is seen as "had its day" or a like the dinosaurs, a "thing of the past". In other countries people find it hard to imagine a world without oil.

Global oil growth in 2023 is nearly 2.5 million barrels a day compared to 2022. 2024 is predicted to grow by over a further 2 million barrels a day, possibly more.
